FC sle of Man slipped to a 0-1 defeat on Saturday as league leaders Ramsbottom United left the island with three points.
Ramsbottom goalkeeper Bradley Rose’s heroic display proved decisive as the Ravens were unable to find a deserved equaliser.
After Tom Hoyle’s deflected shot left Adam Killey with no chance, the Ravens thought they had equalised almost immediately as Ben Wosser’s downward header was turned up and over the bar by Rose.
Jack McVey came closest after the break to levelling when his free kick hit the outside of the post.
The home fans thought they had scored when Wosser again got on the end of a cross, but the officials were unmoved to claims the ball had crossed the line, what they would have given for VAR.
As the Ravens piled forward, it was Rose who was to steal the show as he expertly kept out a close range header from a returning Sean Doyle and a Jacob Crook effort, both of which seemed goal bound.
The Ravens will be back in action on Wednesday evening away at Cheadle Town.
