The Independent Living Centre, based within the Central Community Health Centre (CCHC) in Douglas, is changing to an appointment-based service from next month.
The change from a drop-in facility to an appointment-based service is due to take place on August 7.
The aim of this change from drop-in sessions to booked appointments is to help the service to be more responsive and timely for those who need it.
A scheduled appointment will also allow for dedicated time and confidentiality to discuss any concerns.
Appointment Only Service
The local therapy service is run by Manx Care professionals and helps people to find solutions to stay active, safe and independent.
The Independent Living Centre also provides people with the opportunity to see and try a range of products, which includes:
- Bed;
- Bathroom/toileting and mobility aids;
- Moving and handling equipment.
Appointments with the Independent Living Centre will be available every Wednesday from August 7, between 9am and 2:30pm, booked in 30-minute slots.
After August 7, there will be no option to ‘drop in’, and an appointment will be required.
To make an appointment, a referral is required – this can be done over the phone (01624 642147) or online via this link.
Please note, specific information about the person requiring the assessment will be required as part of the booking process.
