If you are intending to enter the MFX Ltd End to End Walk and haven’t already entered, do it now!
Entries close at midnight on Sunday, September 1, so there are only two days left.
The annual race takes place on September 15, taking competitors the length of the Isle of Man from the Point of Ayre to the Sound down the west side of the island via Peel.
The distance is just shy of 40 miles, with much of it on the Parish Walk route in the reverse direction.
The race also incorporates a contest for U20 walkers which finishes at Peel, a distance of just over 22 miles.
End to End
The event was very nearly lost to the athletics calendar for a number of reasons two years ago, but thanks to the sterling efforts of a new organising committee and a new sponsor coming on board it was revived last year with the biggest entry for more than a decade.
120 of the 291 entrants completed the full route in 2023 within the time limit of 10 hours 30 minutes.
There are currently 252 entrants, which is a healthy number, and it would be great to see last year’s figure of 291 exceeded by the end of Sunday evening.
I hear the organising team have already ordered good weather for the day of the race!
