A woman in the north of the island is asking the general public to carry a cloth in their car, in the sad circumstances that anyone may hit a cat whilst driving.
In a video Alison Kenyon appeals to drivers to do the “appropriate thing” and wrap a cat in a cloth if you hit it, and ideally take it to a vet.
She asks that even if that cat is deceased to either take it to a vet, or place it at the side of the road so hopefully someone else can take it to the vet.
Help Get Them Home
The hopes of the video is to “educate drivers on how to be prepared and what they can do to help if they happen to hit a pet on the road”.
Alison’s son share the video of his mum saying that her “cat was recently hit by a car and she was left searching for her for days”.
If you do unfortunately hit someone’s pet on the road, please do the right thing and help get them home, even when its too late.
