The 2024 Christmas Prime Stock Show was held at the Mart at Knockaloe last week.
The show was hosted by the Royal Manx Agricultural Show in association with the Southern District Agricultural Show.
His Excellency and Lady Lorimer attended the very popular evening with exhibitors and spectators alike.
The Lieutenant Governor and Lady Lorimer were particularly encouraged to see so many younger exhibitors taking to the Ring for the first time.
Prime Stock Show
Unfortunately, due to the weather, Guest Judge, Mr Gavin Little was unable to travel to the Island, but three local judges stepped in at the last minute.
Mr Adie Corlett for cattle, Mr Robert Kennedy for sheep and Mr Michael Kinvig judged Young Handlers.
Some of the prizes given out, included Best Exhibit in the Cattle Section, which was awarded to Jay & Tracey Radcliffe, with Ella Radcliffe showing the animal in the ring.
Graham Watterson made a welcome return to showing by being awarded Best Exhibit in the Unhaltered Cattle class.
Lee and Tom Cain had the Best Exhibit in the Cattle Not for Killing section and Sarah Kewley took the honours in the Short Wool Section and also best Sheep exhibit over all.
Finally – Fergus Quayle was announced the Champion Young Handler with Faye Qualtrough as Reserve.
