With a new theatrical year fast approaching, a local law firm has supported a dramatic duo as it continues to help talented local performers.
In sponsoring the annual Douglas Choral Union (DCU) bursary, Douglas-based practice DQ Advocates helps young islanders as they pursue further education in any aspect of drama, dance, music or theatre.
The recipients of the 2024/25 awards, Hannah Clinton and Liam Behan, popped into DQ’s offices during the festive period when they were officially presented with their bursaries.
Both have been involved with the arts in the Isle of Man for several years.
Drama Duo
Hannah Clinton has just completed her first term at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance where she is studying towards an MA in musical theatre.
Based in London, she is also an accomplished illustrator and designer.
Liam Behan is also no stranger to the Manx stage and has taken on a number of senior roles in a variety of shows. He recently accepted a place at the London School of Musical Theatre.
The initiative is the continuation of a long-standing partnership between the DCU and DQ which is the principal sponsor of the society’s 2025 production.
Both beneficiaries will provide an update on their progress and present workshops with the DCU later this year.

Each applicant will be asked to complete an application form and a shortlist of applicants will then be invited to discuss their future plans.
The closing date for the Committee to consider applications is June 30 for courses commencing from September 2025.
