Davison’s has expressed its sympathies with Andreas Meats after the butchers announced it was pulling out of Tesco.
Andreas said it will stop supplying meat to the company from the end of February.
Sharing the Andreas Meats post on Facebook, Davison’s said the transition from Shoprite to Tesco “has been a massive undertaking and adaption, from both sides I might add, theirs and ours, to get local products into the 10 stores on island”.
However, the Peel based company also said that it has experienced a drop in sales since the move, which was also reported by Andreas Meats.
It said that its “current forecasts for the next 12 months our turnover with Tesco is due to be down 50% in comparison to our last 12 months trading with Shoprite”.
