Small Section of Road to Close

Updated: Due to the weather conditions, the DoI has delayed this work.

It said: “Please be advised that the planned repairs to the road surface at the Quarterbridge roundabout and its junction with the New Castletown Road, originally scheduled for this evening, have been postponed until tomorrow due to adverse weather conditions.

“As a result, the works scheduled for Wednesday at Braddan Bridge will now take place on Thursday evening. The Department apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your understanding.”

From 6pm on Wednesday evening, a short section of road between Quarterbridge roundabout and the entrance to the NSC track will be closed to all traffic.

This is necessary to undertake repairs to the carriageway on the one of the lanes of the roundabout nearest the TT Access Road.

There will be signed diversions in place.

• Traffic between Braddan and the West and Douglas or Quarterbridge Road will not be affected

• Traffic between Central Douglas and Quarterbridge Road and the north will not be affected

• Traffic between New Castletown Road (and the south) and Central Douglas will be diverted via Groves Road.

• Traffic from New Castletown Road for the west or Nobles Hospital should divert via Saddle Road.

It is expected that this closure order will be lifted before midnight.

These works are being done in the evening to minimise their impact on the travelling public.
