An MHK from the south of the island is requesting to know where checks are being carried out in relation to child benefit.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse has requested to know certain details from the Treasury Minister in a written question.
Mr Moorhouse wishes to know what checks are carried out to determine whether children whose parents receive benefits to support them are in the island.
He also wants to know on how many occasions in each of the last three years such benefits have been ceased because of a failure to provide evidence that a child was in the island.
The Treasury Minister Alex Allinson MHK has until September 22 to respond.
