The reduced personal allowance for high earners generated over £5.7 million in its first full year.
The measure, introduced in the 2023 Budget, withdraws the personal allowance at a rate of £1 for every £2 of total income over £100,000 for individuals, or £200,000 for jointly assessed couples.
Answering a question from Douglas South MHK Sarah Maltby, Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson said the most recently available figures were from 2023/24.
He said: “In 2023/24 the reduction in the personal allowance applied to 1329 individually assessed persons and 514 jointly assessed couples.
“The total amount of additional revenue generated as a result of the reduced personal allowance was £5,731,080.”
