Emergency Care Assistant Millie Gale is the first recipient of the Steve Crowe Award for Resilience in Learning.
Millie was presented with the award after successfully completing training to become a qualified Emergency Care Assistant.
The Steve Crowe Award was created to honour the memory and legacy of Steve Crowe who passed away in 2023.

It recognises an ambulance service colleague who has demonstrated resilience and personal growth in the face of adversity.
The Ambulance Service said: “Steve served the community in leadership roles in the ambulance service and voluntary sector, and was instrumental in establishing the ambulance service’s education and development provision.”
Millie said: “I am honoured to receive the Steve Crowe Award for Resilience in Learning. This award is a powerful reminder that not all learning journeys follow the same path—and that with determination and support, anything is possible.
“A huge thank you to the IMAS education team, my mentor Jo, my friends, my family, and my colleagues for your support through all the late nights and early mornings.”
