A woman undertaking a year-long challenge to walk 1,000 miles between 67 of the UK’s piers has visited the island.
Elizabeth Whatnall, accompanied by her husband Joe, visited Ramsey’s Queen’s Pier earlier this week.
The couple had walked from Douglas, her point of entry to the island, via the coastal path.
The Queens Pier Restoration Trust, which welcomed the walkers, reported the pair enjoyed rainbows and that “the dolphins also made an appearance at the pier, magical”.
Queen’s Pier was the 58th pier visited by Ms Whatnall as part of her ‘Pier to Pier’ challenge, which began in mid-January 2025. She has so far walked approximately 800 miles.
The Trust stated: “We would like to wish Elizabeth, her husband Joe and all her family and friends who are supporting her in this mammoth task all the very best for the remainder of the challenge.”
The walk is raising funds and awareness for Endometriosis UK.
