A pre‑dawn charity walk along Douglas promenade will return later this month as Isle of Man Samaritans prepare to host their second ‘Dawn Walk’.
The walk on Saturday, March 28 sets off at 6:30am from the Bottle Neck Car Park, giving participants the chance to watch the sunrise as they make their way along the seafront.
The event is designed to raise awareness of the support available to anyone in the Island community who may be struggling or “trying to find a way out of their own darkness”.

The Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer and Lady Lorimer will join the walk, alongside representatives from several island charities.
Aimee Grainger, Branch Director at Isle of Man Samaritans, said last year’s inaugural Dawn Walk, held to mark the charity’s 45th anniversary, drew almost 100 participants.
“It was so successful that we are hopeful we will get the same positive response this year too,” she said.
After completing the route, walkers will finish at Looky’s Lounge Bar at the Best Western Palace Hotel for a cup of tea and the chance to continue conversations.
Fellow Branch Director Deana Douglas said the timing of the event was deliberate:
“Winter is a tough time of year for lots of people. The purpose of the Dawn Walk is to celebrate the clocks going forward that weekend, welcome British Summer Time and talk to those people who have potentially been struggling. The walk is open to everyone, and we look forward to welcoming those who want to come along.”
