Sections of the pirate ship play equipment at Jubilee Park have been cordoned off following significant damage caused by a group of young people.
The popular feature in the Birch Hill park was targeted overnight, leaving the Onchan District Commissioners with no choice but to close parts of it for safety reasons.
Police have been informed of the incident.
The Authority said: “We would also like to remind parents and guardians to be aware of their children’s whereabouts and activities — do you know where your children were last night?”
Park users are urged to take extra care using the remaining facilities and to report further damage to the Commissioners. The authority said it would carry out repairs as soon as practicable to reinstate the equipment.
