Andrea Enters Race For Douglas Central Seat

Andrea Krüger has confirmed she will stand as a candidate in the 2026 General Election for Douglas Central.

She cites concerns over what she describes as “the steady decline” of the Isle of Man in recent decades.

Krüger, a Chartered Architect who moved to the island 24 years ago, said she intends to offer “an alternative to those candidates who have been part of past decision making, be it in Tynwald or local authorities”.

Local Issues

She has lived in Douglas Central for most of her time on the Island and also runs the Isle of Man Flying School, where she teaches people to fly.

She said the area and its community have become “very fond” to her, and that raising her two children here has strengthened her commitment to local issues.

Krüger previously campaigned in 2023, knocking on hundreds of doors to gather signatures for a petition on parking concerns following approval of the Westmoreland Village development. Although the petition did not succeed, she said she remains “undeterred” in addressing challenges facing residents.

If elected, she lists her priorities as the economy, the housing crisis, and health and community.

Krüger plans to publish her manifesto in the coming weeks and will be canvassing in Douglas Central to speak with residents directly.
