Tractor Run Organisers Tease Big Plans

The organisers of the Young Farmers Christmas Tractor Run say this year’s parade will return on December 5 and 6.

It follows strong public support for the Saturday and Sunday format trialled last year.

Speaking at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show to Manx.News, Charlie Corkill and Hayley Crowe said the weekend schedule has transformed the southern route, giving communities in Castletown and the south a better chance to enjoy the procession.

The event will again be capped at 75 tractors for safety and logistics, with the convoy often stretching close to two miles.

Big Plans

The organisers said they are already planning for the Tractor Run’s 10‑year anniversary in 2027, hinting at a larger‑scale celebration.

What began as a small Young Farmers’ winter morale‑booster has grown into one of the island’s biggest festive community events, raising more than £120,000 for local charities since its launch. Last year alone, the run collected over £30,000.

The 2026 charities will be chosen by the Young Farmers Federation at its AGM following the show.
