Boxing superstar Tyson Fury has hit out at gambling operations who have been using his name for promotion.
The former unified heavyweight world champion, who has expressed a desire for his next fight to be on the Isle of Man, says he has “nothing to do with any gambling apps or casinos,” and urges fans not to download them.
Word of Warning
Speaking in a video posted to his Facebook page, Fury says: “It’s been brought to my attention that there are online gambling casinos and apps being put out there in my name.
“There are no Tyson fury casinos, there’s no Tyson Fury gambling sites, no Tyson Fury anything.”
The 38-year-old father of seven has openly battled addiction and mental health issues, chiefly following his world title victories over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, and cautions of the damage gambling can do.
“I don’t condone gambling at all, because it’ll lead to problems. I never have, and I never will,” he states.
“I’ve been offered millions of dollars to do gambling stuff and I’ve never done it.”
He told followers: “Don’t download it, it’ll hack your phone, rob your bank accounts, everything.”

Isolated Incident?
This comes after the Manx Constabulary warned of scam texts being sent to island residents, with claims of overdue speeding offences.

The constabulary has urged recipients to delete these messages, such as the example shown above, and report them to their colleagues at the Cyber Security Centre.
It is also encouraging people o share this information with higher risk individuals who may be vulnerable to this type of scam.
