Published author Joanne Clague and local artist and author Debra Tracey have joined forces to create a new organisation dedicated to writing while exploring the attractions the Isle of Man has to offer.
Writers’ Island Retreat hosted a day of workshopping in Port Erin that incorporated return travel on the Island’s historic steam railway.
Clague said: “Our writing days out are suitable for everybody who fancies devoting a bit of their time to writing.
“On our trip to Port Erin we had a best-selling author from Tasmania as well as somebody who had never tried writing fiction. We’ve had some wonderful feedback.”
Next September, the organisation will host a four-night luxury writing retreat aimed at bringing visitors to the Island.
Tracey said: ‘We want people to experience our beautiful island and have the time to write, whatever stage they are at on their writing journey. There’s nowhere better to promote creativity.
