Isle of Man racer Nickolas Ellis ended his maiden Ligier European Series campaign on a high with a superb second-place finish at the season finale in Portimão, Portugal.
Sharing the Trajectus Motorsport Ligier JS P4 with Gabriel Doyle-Parfait, Ellis helped claim a podium finish in the opening one-hour race before the pair followed up with sixth place in race two.
After taking over the car during the first race’s pit-stop phase, Ellis climbed through the field and crossed the line fourth before post-race penalties promoted the duo to second place, their best result of the season.
The Manx driver went on to score another strong result in the second race and completed the campaign with eight top-seven finishes from 11 races, ending the season ninth in the Drivers’ Championship.
