The Isle of Man Land Registry welcomed a delegation of land administration specialists from Norway for a day of discussions and knowledge-sharing.
The visit brought together representatives from the Norwegian Mapping Authority and Norwegian Courts Administration, alongside internationally recognised geospatial expert Dr Robin McLaren and former Isle of Man Information Commissioner Iain McDonald.
Discussions focused on comparing the land registration systems of the Isle of Man and Norway, covering topics including property rights, cadastral information, boundary disputes and proof of ownership.
James Lowery, Legal Officer at the Land Registry, said the exchange had been “extremely helpful and informative”, noting that while the two registries operate on different scales, they face many similar challenges.
The visit coincided with the launch of a refreshed Isle of Man Land Registry Dashboard, providing residents, businesses and property professionals with access to live application data and house price statistics.
