Isle of Man law firm Corlett Bolton is celebrating the qualification of Matthew Ismay, who has been called to the Manx Bar and commissioned as an Advocate.
Aged 23, Matthew’s commissioning on October 21 marks a significant milestone in his legal career. He first joined the firm on a work experience placement in 2023 before returning after graduating from the University of York with First Class Honours in 2024.
Matthew passed the Manx Bar examinations with merit on his first attempt at the age of 21 and has since gained experience across a range of civil and commercial matters, including contractual disputes and employment law.
Speaking about his qualification, he thanked colleagues at Corlett Bolton for their support and said he looked forward to continuing to develop his skills while helping individuals and businesses with legal challenges.
Managing Director and Senior Advocate Sally Bolton described the achievement as “fantastic”, adding that Matthew was already a valuable member of the firm’s litigation team.
Corlett Bolton said his qualification further strengthens its litigation offering and commitment to providing legal services across the Isle of Man.
