The vacancy at Braddan Commissioners has been filled by a former House of Keys candidate.
Alf Caine will serve on the local authority for the next three years, and takes over from Peter Scott who left earlier this year.
He will join Chair Andrew Jessopp, Melanie Jansen, Neal Mellon and Daniel Stevenson.
The parish authority has not had an election since 2008.
