Yasmin Ingham produced a strong performance at the seven-year-old World Championships at Le Lion in France.

Ingham and seven-year-old Club Class, owned by Deirdre Johnston, Jane Knight, Lady Milnes Coates and Mary Tweddle, finished 22nd in the world in the championship.

The Manx woman took over the ride of ‘Louis’ earlier this year.

Competing against the best young event horses from around the globe, Ingham and the gelding opened with an impressive dressage score of 29.9 placing fourth after the opening phase.

The pair then added 5.6 cross-country time penalties, dropping to a score of 35.5 and 22nd place heading into the showjumping finale.

A single rail down in the final jumping phase, along with 0.4 time penalties, saw them finish on an overall score of 39.9, securing 22nd place overall.

After the showjumping, Ingham said: “Delighted with Louis today in such a big showjumping atmosphere. He just rubbed an unlucky rail behind in the treble but gave me a mega ride around the rest. He has scope to burn!

“To have completed our first CCI3*L together from only starting to get to know him this April has been really satisfying and so much to take out of this event heading into the winter.”

Ingham’s last event of the season will be this coming week as she and Gyspie Du Loir head to Pau in France to contest the CCI5*.
