266 First Time Buyers on Waiting List

The Infrastructure Minister has confirmed that 266 people were on the First Home Fixed Scheme waiting list as of July 20.

225 of the 266 indicated they are ready to buy this year.

The scheme, which offers approved affordable homes at a discounted purchase price through the Register of First Time Buyers, had no completed properties available at that date.

In a written Tynwald answer, Minister Crookall said 35 affordable homes are expected to come online within the next 12 months. These include:

  • Braddan Woods: 6 homes;
  • Ballagarraghyn, Jurby: 6 homes expected during 2026;
  • Glenfaba Rise, Peel: 23 homes expected during 2027.

The figures were released in response to a question from the Onchan MHK Julie Edge, who asked for an update on waiting list numbers, readiness to purchase, current availability and projected supply.
