From Monday (February 19) of next week, teams from the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) will be undertaking carriageway repairs on Church Road, Churchtown to the eastern approach to the DOI Depot at Glenduff, Lezayre.
During the works there will be a 30mph speed limit and temporary traffic lights in place.
These arrangements will be in place for up to two weeks to facilitate carriageway paver repairs in the vicinity of Glentramman.
The temporary speed limit and temporary traffic lights will be operational on a 24/7 basis.
Carriageway repairs
The DOI is to also undertake carriageway repairs on a section of School Road between the Main Road and 1st Avenue in Onchan.
The works will start on Monday, February 19 and be completed no later than Friday, February 23.
These works have been deliberately scheduled to coincide with half term so as not to conflict with schools traffic.
The work will focus on repairing a failed utilities trench reinstatement in the carriageway.
Onchan
In order to facilitate works a temporary order will be in place prohibiting on- street car parking between Main Road and 1st Avenue while works are underway.
The order also allows the DOI to close the road to through traffic as required.
It will be necessary to activate this part of the order for one or two days during the week in order to repair the carriageway in the vicinity of the build outs just below Onchan School.
Which days, and for how long the closures will be necessary is somewhat weather dependant and will be indicated by appropriate signage on the day(s) in question.
