Community Service work groups, part of the Isle of Man Prison and Probation Service, have been continuing to work with partners around the Island to revitalise spaces and assist with projects.
Recently they were invited to St Johns School to install a pond in the ‘Peter Rabbit Patch’ garden.
The school have been regenerating their derelict garden over the past year and the pond is one of the three core projects for the renewal of St Johns School Eco-School award in 2024.
The Manx Wildlife Trust have kindly donated native pond plants to grow in and around the new pond, and over the next few years the school hopes to attract frogs and other pond life and provide water for wildlife.
The garden will be used by the School’s Eco-Club, Nurture Class and for science lessons.
