A total of 231 entries have been accepted for the 2024 Blackford Financial Services Pre-TT Classic Road Races.
The racing kicks off next Friday (May 24) and runs until Sunday (May 26).
Last year’s race winners, Joe Yeardsley, Barry Davidson, Rhys Hardisty, and Keith Shannon head a list of the crème de la crème of Classic Racers as they compete for a share of the £14,540 prize fund over a total of nine races.
Pre-TT Classic Road Races
The Junior Superbike Post Classic race has proved the most popular, followed by the Junior 350cc Classic, the Senior Superbike Post Classic and the Senior (500cc).
The 1100cc Classic, 350cc and 250cc Singles and 250cc Lightweight and 125cc Post Classic, all have quality entries, as do the two Sidecar races, although the 2023 winners have ‘gone modern’ and are concentrating their efforts on the Snaefell Mountain Course.
The Blackford’s Pre-TT Classic Road Races practice, and racing follows the pattern of recent years, with Friday evening being taken up with Practice between 6pm and 9:40pm at the latest.
Saturday afternoon practising continues between 12:30pm and 4pm, whilst Saturday evening will see four races, the MSP-R Singles Race over six laps; the Foraging Vintners 1100cc Classic Race over seven laps, followed by the seven lap Geoff Duke Junior Post Classic Race.
Bringing the proceedings to a close will be the four laps 3 Wheeling Media Sidecar Race One.
Sunday afternoon, between 1pm and 6pm the final six races in this year’s event will be run, commencing with the Greystones LLC Senior (500cc) Classic Race over six laps, followed by the Quine & Cubbon 250cc Classic Race and the 125cc Post Classic Race run concurrently over six laps of the Colas Billown Course.
The prize presentation will be held in Castletown Market Square on Sunday (May 26) at 7:30pm.
