KFC could be open all day and all night if planners agree to a planning variation.
An application has been submitted (24/00753/B) by Gastronomy Foods UK Limited for the store on Peel Road, Douglas.
Currently the store is limited to being open from 10:30 to midnight, if the application is approved it would be allowed to open all day.
The company said the application is due to the “high demand the store is experiencing and the knock-on effect of causing large queues both in the restaurant and the delivery/drive-thru lane”.
It added: “Extending the opening hours will hopefully alleviate some of this pressure and will help with traffic management on site and in the surrounding areas by spreading out customer demand, similar to the nearby McDonalds unit which operates 24 Hours over the weekend period.”
The island’s only KFC opened in June 2022, the former branch in central Douglas closed back in November 2016.
