The has been only one reported crash at the bottom of Broadway since the roundel junction was installed.
A freedom of information request asked for figures in each of the four years since the roundel was opened.
That request found that the only personal injury collisions recorded at the roundel by the Department of Infrastructure happened in 2022.
Installed as part of the refurbishment of Douglas promenades, the roundel and its twin near Sam Webbs caused some controversy when they were first opened.
That led to the police issuing guidance to say they are not roundabouts and “should be treated as unmarked junctions as defined in the Highway Code”.
