Corrin Leeming has had a very busy racing schedule recently, and he produced another superb performance to win the Durham 10km Road Race in a time of 30:47.
The event last week, was part of the Durham City Run Festival, attracted 1,411 runners and was staged over a twisty and technical loop around the historic city centre, including several cobbled street climbs, which proved slippery underfoot after prior rain showers.
A small group, including Leeming running for Western AC, quickly established itself at the front of the race in the opening kilometres, which gradually whittled down in size over the climbs.
Leeming moved to the front placing around the 6km marker, enabling him to establish a gap which he gradually increased until the finish line to take a commanding win in an impressive 30:47.
He was 55 seconds clear of second place contender Adrian Bailes running for Birtley AC.
His time was an improvement of one second on his road pb which was set in the 2023 Easter Festival 10k race in Port Erin.
