Onchan District Commissioners has celebrated a resident’s service in the Royal British Legion, Onchan Branch.
Doug Porter, who held the Onchan branch’s standard for 22 years, retired after this year’s service to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
To thank him for his years of service, the Commissioners presented Mr Porter with a silver salver celebrating his 30 years of service in a range of roles within the Branch.
The presentation was made by the Chair Zara Lewin in front of Mr. Porter’s wife Pauline, his family, friends, and representatives from the Branch.
Mr Porter served with the military police at RAF Jurby.
