A 19-year-old from Douglas who was seen driving while disqualified ran away from officers before later handing himself in.
Daniel Friel admitted driving while disqualified and having no insurance when he appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood.
The court heard Friel was banned from the roads for two years in March 2023 after being found with cocaine in his system after crashing his car in October 2022.
Despite this, on April 4 of this year, officers saw him driving a red ford transit connect on Loch Promenade in Douglas.
As they were unable to stop him, they headed towards his home where they assumed he would be driving towards.
They then spotted Friel on Peel Road, however he parked the van outside a store at The Milestone and when they got to the van he had fled the area.
Friel later handed himself in but gave no comment interview to officers.
At the request of his advocate Kaitlyn Shimmin a full social enquiry report will be completed before Friel is sentenced on October 1.
