The Isle of Man Constabulary has reported that over the past year youth offending has seen a 16% reduction.
In the Chief Constable’s annual report for 2023/2024 it also states that the number of repeat juvenile suspects has reduced.
However, it says that it needs to be recognised that this is not just a matter for the police.
Youth Offending
Chief Constable Russ Foster’s report says that the proportion of offenders that re-offend has remained relatively consistent showing that this is an area that requires “sharper focus and investment from a multi-agency perspective”.
The report reveals that there are 25 prolific juvenile offenders who have been identified as being responsible for a large proportion of re-offending.
