Manx Squad Set For Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships

Twelve Manx athletes are competing at the 2026 Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships in Winnipeg, Canada.

The international meeting taking place over ten days from September 17 to 27.

The Powerlifting Isle of Man team features athletes across junior, sub-junior, open and masters categories, with competition beginning today (September 17) with the Bench Only events.

Kyla Williams, Freya Weldon, Lilly-Jo Hampton and Katie Lovelady will be among the first Manx lifters in action, alongside Kerry Lindsay, Lisa Grant, Samuel Harris and Teagan Lindsay.

Powerlifting Championships

The Full Power competition gets underway on tomorrow (September 18), with Morgan Howard-Browne and Teagan Lindsay competing.

Further Manx athletes will take to the platform throughout the championships, including Cye Maddocks in the Open 105kg category and Janet Pam, Tracy Moore and Lisa Grant in the Masters categories.

The final Manx competitors are scheduled to compete on Friday, September 25, bringing more than a week of competition for the squad in Winnipeg.
