As a result of Storm Darragh, several trees on Balleira Road are believed to be in danger of falling onto the carriageway and have to be felled.
It has been determined that this work must be done as soon as possible in order to maintain public safety.
As such, an emergency road closure has been granted tomorrow (Thursday) from 11am until 5pm.
Whilst works are underway, no vehicular traffic will be able to enter or leave Balleira Road, with the DoI suggesting that if residents require access to their vehicles that they park them on Main Road, Kirk Michael for the duration of the road closure.
Pedestrian access past the works will be available, although short delays may be experienced to ensure the safety of all.
Affected residents will get a letter drop this evening giving details of the work.
