Weather Warning for Morning

A yellow weather warning has been issued for around high tide on Tuesday morning.

Gale force winds are expected to hit the island tomorrow, with some sailings at risk.

The island’s Met Office said: “Gale force south-westerly winds coupled with high spring tides will create large waves and lead to significant overtopping of sea water and debris onto exposed coastal roads and promenades for a couple of hours around the time of high tide tomorrow (Tues 31st Dec ~11:30am GMT).

“The areas most at risk are Shore Road Rushen, Castletown Promenade, the northern end of Douglas Promenade to a lesser extent Laxey & Ramsey Promenades.”

The warning is in place from 9:30am to 1:30pm.
