The DESC has applied to install a double mobile classroom at Ballasalla Primary School.
This follows a significant increase in pupil numbers in recent years.
If approved by planners, the mobile classrooms would be sited on the existing site containing mobile units within the school grounds.
Permission had previously been granted to replace the existing mobile classroom with a single unit, this application would supersede that.
In its application, the DESC said: “The double mobile will provide a useable space for pupils who require quiet, supportive spaces away from the classroom environment.
“Therefore, the schoolwill utilise the double mobile classroom as a breakout area to support pupils needs. Given the rising number on roll and the specific needs within the school, a double mobile classroom is deemed necessary rather than a single one.”
