People are being asked to share their views on the latest plans to refresh and modernise the Isle of Man’s education laws.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture has launched a six-week consultation on the draft Education (Amendment) Bill.
The Bill is designed to update education laws in line with current expectations and future needs.
Modernise Education
Key areas such as inclusion, safeguarding and provision for additional educational needs require updated legal frameworks to ensure that all children and young people are supported to thrive.
The draft Bill outlines practical reforms across nine priority areas, including:
- Promoting the education of children who are looked after
- Alternative provision of education
- Religious education
- Admissions and school capacity
- Additional safeguarding measures
- Emergency school closures
- Children who are not in school
- Educational grants and funding
- Additional educational needs

People are encouraged to read the proposals and provide their feedback before June 15.
