The Manx Heritage Transport Festival will return this summer celebrating 130 years of the Snaefell Mountain Railway.
The festival, July 22 to 27, promises a week of vintage transport experiences, rare tram runs, and special events across the island’s railways and tramways.
The festival kicks off with the Manx Electric Railway (MER) Parallel Run between Derby Castle and Groudle, featuring world record holders Cars No.1 and No.2, departing at 08:50am.
Douglas Bay Horse Tramway will showcase its Victorian and Edwardian tramcars, including the return of trailer No.50 after a 47-year absence.
That evening sees visitors welcomed to Port Erin Station for a Beyer Line-up. The event includes 50% off museum stock and an express service to Port Erin at 5:30pm.

Organisers have already announced the 2026 festival dates July 28 to August 2, marking the 150th anniversary of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway and the 50th anniversary of bus nationalisation.
