Cyclist Ivan Sorby has been announced as the latest addition to RL360’s Athlete Sponsorship Programme, joining professional golfer Ana Dawson and sailor Peter Cope in receiving financial support to further his sporting career.
The 18-year-old, who developed his skills in the RL360-sponsored Youth Cycling League, follows in the footsteps of Manx cycling stars such as Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh.
“I’m really happy to be representing the Isle of Man and RL360 this year,” said Ivan. “The fact that many Manx cyclists have had such success on the international stage inspires me, and I know that with RL360’s support I have every chance of succeeding too.”
Ivan, who placed third overall in last year’s Isle of Man Youth Tour, will represent the island at the upcoming Island Games in Orkney this July.
RL360’s Marketing Director Simon Barwell welcomed the young rider to the programme, saying: “We have no doubt that Ivan will be a great addition to our Athlete Sponsorship Programme.
“He’s had great results already and so is obviously going in the right direction. RL360 is delighted to be a part of his journey.”
