Fencing Team Are Finals Bound

The Isle of Man Young Farmers Fencing Team are heading to the National Fencing Finals.

This is not the classic combat sport that features sword fighting kind of fencing, this is Fence Erecting Competition which offers young farmers a platform to demonstrate their skills in building a stock-proof fence.

Finn Partington, Nick Harvey and Lee Quayle will head to Stafford show ground on July 5 to take part in the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs National Fencing Finals.

Finals Bound

At Low Beckside Farm in Cumbria at the NFYFC Northern Area Field Day the team came second place in some tough conditions.

This result qualified the Manx team for the national finals.

The team is being coached by Dan Creer as well as Duncan Longworth, who has assisted with coaching the Manx fencing team for nearly 50 years.

Finn, Lee and Nick say they are “looking forward to seeing how we get on against some of the best!”
