Glamping and Camping Site Proposed for Farm

An application has been submitted for the creation of a tented campsite, glamping pods and motorhome parking area at Rosehill Farm.

The farm, host of the Full Moon Festival, is accessed via Richmond Hill.

The proposal also includes using an existing agricultural building for camping-related facilities and creating new access tracks, drainage systems, and landscaping.

If approved, the campsite would be operated during TT and Manx Grand Prix periods, while the clamping and motorhome parking would be used year-round.

In a planning statement Sarah Corlett Town Planning Consultancy Ltd said: “The proposed development will allow visitors to the Island to stay in a beautiful location close to public footpaths, including routes to Port Soderick and the coastal network.”

Tourism

The glamping pods, measuring 3m by 6.3m, will feature en-suite shower facilities, cooking areas, and private hot tubs. The site will also accommodate up to 24 motorhomes and 28 tents during race periods.

The statement highlights the project’s alignment with the Isle of Man’s Tourism Strategy, which promotes “unique design, quality accommodation, and reducing the island’s carbon footprint.”

It adds: “The proposal will support local investment and economic activity while utilising the site’s existing buildings.”

Landscaping plans include native planting to screen the pods and motorhome bays, enhancing biodiversity. The application is pending review by planning authorities.
