The Manx National Farmers Union has launched a petition to make more Manx produce available to the public on the Isle of Man.
MNFU has launched the petition after a statistic was released that only 6% of the food purchased on the Isle of Man is produced on island.
In a world where food security is becoming more of a concern, the MNFU want to challenge UK supermarkets and the government to make more Manx produce available.

In comparison to our neighbours, the United Kingdom is 40% reliant on imports, and Jersey 80%, whereas the Isle of Man is now 94% reliant on imported produce.
The Agriculture Minister Clare Barber MHK told Tynwald the figure during a statement about the agricultural and food security strategy in November’s Tynwald sitting.
