Overnight Works Planned for Airport

Ronaldsway Airport Air Traffic Control Tower

Essential drainage improvement work at Ronaldsway will take place overnight later this week.

The work will be done overnight Thursday to Friday and Friday into Saturday between 8:30pm and 5:30am each night.

The project involves heavy machinery, including excavators and rock breakers, to prepare for new drainage installation.

Due to the airport’s open landscape, noise may affect nearby areas such as Derbyhaven, Ballasalla, and Castletown, with potential wider disruption depending on weather conditions.

Disturbance

Interim Airport Director Geoff Pugh said: “We regret this activity may cause a disturbance to residents in the vicinity of the airport and I would like to apologise in advance if this is the case.

“This work is an essential part of our ongoing improvements of the airport’s infrastructure.”

Originally planned for October, the work was rescheduled to minimise disruption.
