Police in the south of have issued a warning after a local man’s boat nearly drifted away on this morning’s tide.
This was due to the ropes attached to his boat being tampered with in Castletown Harbour.
The Police said: “Whilst we cannot condone jumping off local breakwaters, bridges and other harbour features (it is illegal and inherently risky), we know it happens and generally leave people to it as long as they are safe.”
However, officers stressed that interfering with boat ropes will not be tolerated.
“We have to make it super clear that anybody who moves boat ropes to do this will be dealt with robustly, and their details will also be passed to the victims for any civil action.”
