Port Erin RNLI has praised Sam Kennaugh and Matthew Perry after they both achieved their Tier 1.
Tier 1 is a status within the RNLI’s Operational Competency Framework (OCF) for lifeboat crew members, indicating that a volunteer has passed a specific level of training and assessment.
The station said: “Sam and Matthew have worked hard to attain their Tier 1 in quick succession to being approved to go on service earlier in the year.
“Our volunteer crew show great commitment and determination, training in all weathers throughout the year to progress their qualifications and keep their competencies up to date.
“Sam and Matthew won’t be sitting back and relaxing following their recent successes, as both will be progressing to the next stage of their ambitious training plans.”
