A planning application has been submitted proposing the change of use of Howard Pearson House in the Summerhill Business Park to a private medical facility.
The proposal was submitted by Kingsley Land and Property Ltd outlines plans for a facility encompassing clinics and overnight patient accommodation.
The building, currently unoccupied and marketed for some time, would be converted to include consulting rooms, surgical theatres, diagnostic imaging, and patient bedrooms.
A planning statement acknowledges the site is designated as a Business Park but argues the development is suitable and would generate less traffic than the approved office use and that the building is “eminently suitable” for the conversion.
The facility is also presented as a benefit to the island’s healthcare system, noting it could free up space at Nobles Hospital.
