A large donation of pet food from the island has been delivered to a shelter in Ukraine.
The consignment was organised by Karolina Davison and the island’s Ukrainian community as part of a humanitarian convoy.
Hundreds of pets have been displaced by the war in Ukraine, with the shelter in Mykolaiv one of many taking on the care of the four legged companions.
Ольга Подоряко (Olga Podoryako), who runs the shelter, said: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart Karolina Davison, for helping the animals of the shelter.”
Ian Davison, Karolina’s husband, said: “All now arrived with the humanitarian convoy from the island to Ukraine last week, coordinated by my Wife Karolina and volunteers of the Ukrainian community on the island.
“Thank you to everyone who helped and donated food.”
