Less than two hours last night’s evening shift, Police had their had 14th arrest for drink/drug driving since Operation Ripple Effect started.
The arrest was made as a result of the driver failing a roadside breath test.
Police said: “If you get behind the wheel of a vehicle whilst under the influence, you’re far more likely to be involved in a collision, and potentially be the reason why we’ve got to knock on the door of a loved one and change their life forever. Don’t be that reason.
“Plan ahead – use public transport, arrange a lift, or ensure you have a safe way home.”
