Beach Closed as ‘Unusual’ Substance Found

Garwick Beach is closed following the discovery of an unusual substance on shore.

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service is currently in attendance at the incident at Garwick Beach, where the unknown substance has been washed ashore.

The fire service is working with the coastguards to identify the substance and, as a precaution, the beach remains closed.

Avoid Beach

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area and to keep people and pets well away from any items or substances washed up on the shoreline.

If you notice any other unusual items being washed up along the east coast of the island, please report this immediately to the Emergency Services Joint Control Room on 697327.
